A Creativity Hotel & Retreat Center

established in 2019

We are extremely blessed to call Teotihuacan home. Victor was born and raised here and Emily is an American artist who found herself here in 2004 and met Victor while painting murals at the Dreaming House retreat center. After 15 years of involvement in managing the Dreaming House, which is a family business, we decided to follow our own dream when a property next door to our home became available for sale. While most of the property was a vacant lot, we had always been intrigued by the old house on it that faced the village church, and immediately began dreaming into ideas for Villa Las Campanas, which incidentally has that name because the bells, las campanas, of the church next door are a highly featured part of the village “soundtrack.” A little drawing Emily made of a Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent and principal deity of Teotihuacan, curving its serpentine body through the middle of the property became the blueprint for the construction of our guest room “casitas” and the charming garden path that winds between them.

We worked hard to preserve the original old house, said to be the oldest house in the village. By completely renovating its stunning Boveda Catalana clay tile and wood beam ceiling, we were able to securely continue building further structure above it, allowing us to include our art studio, meditation salon, and rooftop terrace which provides amazing views of the Pyramid of the Sun and of the church of San Sebastian and its gorgeous nighttime illumination. As an Intentional Creativity teacher, Emily had always dreamed of an ample art studio classroom space where she could host her own retreats she offers for women, and we’re happy to be able to offer the magical space we’ve created to you now, too, for whatever dreams bring you to Teotihuacan!

We look forward to your stay.
